Born in the vibrant late 1960s, Birchy grew up in a household where music wasn’t just background noise, it was a way of life. With a father who embodied the spirit of the era, complete with flowing hair and a deep love for psychedelic sounds, Birchy was destined to inherit both a passion for music and a flair for the unconventional.
Biography
He began his musical journey with the cello, but it wasn’t long before he was pulled toward the raw energy of rock. Swapping the bow for an electric guitar, Birchy found his true calling in lead guitar, drawn to the power, attitude, and freedom it offered. Why play gently when you can unleash thunderous riffs and command a stage?
His influences run deep through the golden age of rock, with bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin shaping his sound and fueling his love for heavy, unrestrained music. At the same time, he developed a strong appreciation for the theatrical side of glam rock. Icons such as Queen, Elton John, KISS, and Sweet, with their bold performances and larger-than-life personas, sparked his creativity and helped define his unique style.
Over the years, Birchy has brought his energy and presence to a range of projects, including Psycho Sequinz Glam Rock Band and The Naughty Corner. He has also taken on the role of bassist for Milandra’s Peachy Cream album launch, showcasing his versatility and continued passion for live performance.
